The Blue Monk

I've had a number of meals here and can assure you that The Blue Monk is a delight to visit and worth trying out. This locally owned and run Belgian Pub serves 32 beers on draught and over 75 in bottle as well as gastronomically divine dishes.

My fiance Bob, our good friend Krista, her son Simha, and I stopped here for a late lunch and to hide away from the late day sun. After an incredibly beautiful bicycle ride down to Canal Side we rewarded ourselves with simple but delicious food sure to please even the pickiest eater! Grilled Beemster aged Gouda, Gruyère and Smokey Bleu Cheese sandwich with Tomatoes served with Monk Chips.
8 oz. Certified Prime beef with Ommengang Abbey Ale caramelized onions and smokey bleu cheese.

Which would have been more scrumptious with smoked cheddar rather than the blue, a side of Monk chips, and Ommegang's Whitte.

Mussels in Ommegang Witte with lemon, leeks, garlic, parsley and cream.

Monk's Mac & Cheese with Prosciutto.
